Hyrox in 10 days

Hi there I have Manchester hyrox doubles in Manchester on Thursday 22nd Jan. With the training programme should I stick with the programme issued or should I still do the same amount of reps and load or just go lighter until I have competed ?

Oh nice, I’d love to do a hyrox, not that I have the capabilities :joy: good luck with it :flexed_biceps:

Hi, I’m also racing in Manchester.

I’d probably reduce the volume a couple of days before, you don’t want to be taking on Hyrox with heavy legs/upper body

Hello! I’m so sorry I’ve only just seen this message now!

Hopefully you absolutely smashed your doubles :flexed_biceps:t3::fire:

For future reference, I’d recommend having a deload week leading into a competition. Still train, but keep the weights on the lighter side. The goal is to go in feeling fresh and recovered, not fatigued

Going into the competition with DOMS can definitely affect performance, so pulling back slightly beforehand usually leads to a much better outcome on the day. :light_blue_heart:
