I actually bought a book for the first time in a few years Friday and started it over the weekend so my aim this week is to read this for at least half an hour every evening
I use an app called insight timer and it’s got so many different breathing and guided mediation exercises for anyone who is new to it and wants to try. YouTube is also good for this kind of stuff
It find it a really nice thing to do as it’s like a period of time of quiet that is just for you
This week is an odd week for me I had a car accident a few weeks ago and my back has gone this has left me with no choice but to not train this week I’m devastated! But I have to listen to my body! Got a sports massage on Friday it does what it’s supposed to and I can get back to it, so this mindfulness week couldn’t have come at a better time
Going to leave my phone at home for a change whilst walking this little one. It’s scary that it actually makes me feel a little bit anxious but we can do hard things! X
My focus this week is meditation and breath control I’m wanting to relax my sore body and mind and recover quicker for the final weeks so I can push myself more
I love this challenge. As someone who suffers mentally I already do this regularly & it does make a big impact.
I attend icebaths on Fridays which helps control the mind, high natural endorphins also snaps me out of dissociation - flight or fight mode i always find I have the best nights rest afterwards.
I also attend mountain yoga on a Saturday for breathing work, helps slow a fast pace mind & make you more aware, relaxed & present in the moment.
I find listening to audio books on the stair master calming & is also a great hack, I get so engrossed & distracted time goes very quickly.
I need to work on journaling, I rarely don’t get much time to be on my phone
Last night’s breath work that did lead me to falling asleep!
I highly recommend the app insight timer! It’s free with sooooo many teachers and many mediations and exercises for different things - sleep, stress, anxiety. I’ve been using it for well over a year!
I’ve committed to no scrolling in the gym and am going to attempt to listen to music only as well (usually have podcasts going 24/7 ) to give my brain a full hour to switch off and leave room for mind wandering
Breath work before bed and I now have 7 days of good sleep behind me after a few weeks of very little! I don’t even remember finishing the exercise and I love it when that happens!
Last week before going to sleep i have been putting on alexa and playing mindfulness music to help relieve any stress and help too have a good sleep and i think its been working
