Mines definitely early morning. Sets me up for the day. It’s is hard for sleep though cause fitting it in I have to go pretty early but defo worth it.
I have a question quickly which is better for muscle growth is is Low reps with high weight or high reps with low weight
Or is it better to be balanced across your training or is it as long as you go to failure that’s all that’s matter.
Completely with you there mike!
Good question Mike, the best approach for muscle growth can depend on your specific goals and body response, but here’s a general breakdown
Low Reps with High Weight:
- Pros: This approach typically increases muscle strength and promotes hypertrophy (muscle growth). It engages more fast-twitch muscle fibers, which are crucial for building muscle mass.
- Reps: 4-6
- Sets: 3-5
- Weight: Heavy (near maximum effort)
High Reps with Low Weight:
- Pros: This method is excellent for muscular endurance and can still promote muscle growth, especially for slow-twitch muscle fibers. It’s also easier on the joints and reduces the risk of injury.
- Reps: 12-15+
- Sets: 3-5
- Weight: Lighter (manageable effort)
Balanced Training:
- Pros: Combining both approaches can provide the benefits of both muscle strength and endurance. It also keeps your workouts varied and can prevent plateaus.
- Reps: Varies (8-12 is common for a balanced approach)
- Sets: 3-4
- Weight: Moderate to heavy

Definitely, thank you so much!
Will try that walking & chatting
I make my own no-sugar dark chocolate by melting 2 parts cacao butter to one part cacao powder & pouring in moulds. It’s really delicious once you get used to the intense flavour & also cheaper than supermarket brands
Wow Janette, you’re a domestic goddess as well! Love it!
Wow sounds and looks great Janette, how long does it usually take to make a bar?
Connor I make 5 bars at a time. You just have to melt the cacao & powder in a bowl over some hot water & pour into the moulds, leave to cool & refrigerate, so a couple of hours
Perfect, thanks for the swift reply!
